Austin FC & Q2 Reopen $150K Grant Program to Support Local Nonprofits
Local soccer team and tech partner launch the next round of Q-munity Gives
Austin Social Impact News is produced by Grateful Giving, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tech startup focused on transforming every purchase into a force for good.

Austin FC and Q2 Holdings have officially relaunched their annual Q-munity Gives grant program for 2025, aiming to inject $150,000 into Central Texas nonprofits. Through this collaboration, three organizations will each receive $50,000 to advance work in education, workforce readiness, or health and wellness.
The program, now in its fifth year, has become a meaningful platform for local impact. Past winners have used these funds to expand tutoring programs, boost digital literacy and job training, and deliver wellness or mental health support to underserved youth. For instance, 2024 recipients included Our Shared Kitchen, Senior Access, and Yellow Bike Project.
Applications are open from September 23 to October 10, 2025, with recipient announcements scheduled for November. Organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving Central Texas, and proposals must focus on project implementation (rather than general capacity funding).
This partnership between a pro sports club and a tech firm highlights a growing trend in Austin: corporate entities directly investing in local social infrastructure. In regions where public dollars are stretched, grant programs like this serve as a bridge—amplifying nonprofit capacity and focusing on equity goals.
Still, while impactful, such programs also raise important questions: Does relying on corporate grants risk unpredictability in funding cycles? Can these programs be scaled or institutionalized so that nonprofits don’t depend solely on yearly application windows?
As Austin continues to grow, collaborations like Q-munity Gives demonstrate one path forward: aligning local institutions with community needs. Austin FC and Q2 are essentially saying, “We’re not just here for games or software—we’re here for social progress too.” As one spokesperson put it:
“We’re building stronger communities together—on and off the field.”
If your organization is doing work in education, job readiness, or health and wellness—and you meet eligibility requirements—this is a timely opportunity to apply or nominate a partner.
